Connect my community

Our team has always been predominantly a face to face service, working on group and project development covering Central Lancashire, supporting people to develop local assets that can tackle isolation and improve mental wellbeing, however with COVID-19 hitting it made this task impossible, we therefore can together as a team and helped create a new project called Connect My Community NHS.

Connect My Community NHS (CMCNHS) is an online provision where we bring together local community groups and charities from within Central Lancashire (Preston, Chorley and South Ribble), and help them with their awareness, create collaboration opportunities, and aid in their sustainability

We have our Facebook page where all our information is sharable and includes posts such as funding links, events and wellness posts, while our closed group contains over 10 social prescribers, NHS staff, people from the community and over 40 community groups and charities, in an interactive arena to allow the flow of communication between them.

In the 32 days since going live with this project we have seen our Spotlight videos (audio chat with the group to talk about themselves) reach over 1000 people each, we have impressions of almost 25K, with a post reach of over 8K, with our Twitter following seeing an up rise of approximately 3000% since March 2020.

We will be adding CAD Talks to discuss big community problems, tackled at a local level between our community groups/charities and an expert, in addition to funding clinics, we have also set up a social responsibility version on LinkedIn to bring in local businesses, who what to help their local community grow.
