Lancashire Teaching Hospitals has recently been recognised in the prestigious Centrica Top 100 Apprenticeship Employer list.
We currently have 300 apprentices across our organisation, in an array of departments from catering to accountancy to health care support. We retain approximately 90% of our apprentices at the end of their training and many have progressed to more senior roles with us, which is a great achievement.
Olivia Dymond is an Apprentice Administrator within our business team. Olivia started this role in April 2017, after having completed another apprenticeship with us prior to this role.
Olivia said: “I finished my first apprenticeship with Lancashire Teaching Hospitals in April 2017 and I did not want to leave! It is such a lovely and welcoming place to work, and I thoroughly enjoyed my time working here, so I got a next level apprenticeship because the support you receive from your line managers is second to none, the apprenticeship programmes here are so varied, and the process is seamless. As I am approaching the end of my apprenticeship, I have just secured a post in the team I work with now and cannot wait to start working full time!”
Shannon Hucks is an Apprentice Health Records Clerk within our health records team. Heather said: “Lancashire Teaching Hospitals is a great place to work. The staff here are really friendly and easy to get along with, and apprenticeships here are a great stepping stone for career opportunities within the trust. I started my apprenticeship in November last year, and I hope to stay within the department to carry on what I am doing when my apprenticeship is complete.”
