St Barthololmew Hospital's Uro-Oncology Team have been treating testicular cancer for a number of years.

They are the Germ Cell centre, meaning large numbers of referrals from a number of hospitals in East Anglia. Notwithstanding, patients within East London.

Moreover, they run multiple trials for bladder, renal and prostate cancers. The caseloads are massive, but the Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) team is growing.

Our Team pledge is 'To develop and maintain a testicular support group.'

Our Team has been working closing with Orchid ( https://orchid-cancer.org.uk/testicular-cancer/ ) and our own Macmillan cancer services and Maggie centre.

This group will enhance the patient/family/carer experience and allow informal access to CNSs.

Research undertaken by Macmillan and peer review data tells us patients like support groups and these groups improve recovery and wellbeing.

Work is ongoing to secure a venue and shortly we will be informing our patients of the time and place.

Once this group is up and running we will look to develop a bladder cancer group with the support of Fight Bladder Cancer ( http://fightbladdercancer.co.uk/ ).
