A better reception for patients and carers at the Hospital Hotel
Problem
The furniture in the hospital hotel reception was becoming old, worn and a little uncomfortable.
Impact
Patients and visitors didn’t want to use the space, meaning they rarely left their rooms and didn’t have anywhere to spend time with their visitors. This left them less relaxed and less likely to use the hotel.
Idea
To invest in new furniture so there was a comfortable and visually appealing space for patients and visitors in reception.
Benefit
Patients and carers can use the space to relax away from their rooms in a social environment. They can meet fellow patients and invite visitors to meet them in reception. It is much better for patients and visitors to have a choice to relax away from their rooms.
