Lincolnshire Allied Heath Professionals have established a Preceptorship Award for all newly qualified AHPs. The scheme runs alongside employer preceptorship schemes but enables the AHP to collate continual professional development evidence in line with HCPC requirements and within a structure that ensures they are undertaking development in each of the Advanced Clinical Practice Pillars.
The scheme is run by a sub group of the Lincolnshire AHP Strategic Forum consisting of staff with an interest in the development of AHPs. To supplement existing CPD activities four training days per year are provided by the subgroup for preceptees. These are based on each ACP Pillar - professional practice, facilitation of education, research and development and leadership.
The scheme was launched at the first Pillar Training Day in January 2019.
