The Integrated Care System (ICS) Benchmarker is now live! A new online portal providing members with insight and intelligence on their Integrated Care Systems (ICS), is now available to Network members.
Following a successful scoping session in February 2019 and input from a member reference group, the ICS Benchmarker has been developed to:
inform annual planning and 5-year strategic plans by providing insights into population health need, and balance of provision, across the health and care system;
provide a baseline for monitoring progress with ICS plans;
highlight areas for service review and improvement; and
provide evidence that the ICSs are maturing and progressing.
The ICS Benchmarker covers seven domains: population health, service models, workforce, activity, capacity and access, finance, quality and outcomes. With comprehensive data, sourced nationally and supplemented by local data from Network’s benchmarking projects, the online Benchmarker provides a whole system view of healthcare provision and investment.
The ICS Benchmarker can be accessed by logging into the NHS Benchmarking Network members’ area.

Phase one of the ICS Benchmarker has a range of functionality to ensure members can use the tool to benefit their local health systems. Options include:
Peer group profiling by STP/ICS or nearest neighbour, based on the NHS Rightcare groups
Ability to create your own peer groups and set your own default organisations
Time series analysis to identify trends
Ability to view relationships between key indicators from different sectors to understand the impact of investment decisions.
The ICS Benchmarker will have regular updates to incorporate latest available data and new functionality. We want to hear from our members on how you are using the tool and what features you would like to see built into future versions.
