This resource is a PowerPoint aimed at student/ new physical health nurses to give them a greater insight of mental ill health.
Presented from the perspective of a nurse in A&E needing to attend to a patient with a mental health condition, the powerpoint uses descriptive writing to place them in the position of the patient, this is then turned around to question what can be done to ensure the patient's thus, the nurses feelings of safety and security.
It is intended to create greater understanding and empathy thereby increasing the confidence of the practitioner and the overall experience for the patient.
