My Pledge is to work with colleagues across the Trust to finish the Learning Disability Surgical Pathway.
This will ensure Patients with a learning disability can access elective admissions which consider and respond to their reasonable adjustment needs to ensure they have equitable service and has the patients at the centre of the pathway. This will involve a number of services including, waiting list, pre assessment, Day Case Wards, Theatres, Anaesthetists and colleagues from LPFT Learning disability team.
I hope as part of this we will introduce sensory boxes within the theatre and recovery areas to add additional resources to support people with learning disabilities and ensure they feel at ease during their admission.
