I pledge to make our hospital a happy place.
I always thank the nurses and health care workers for what they do when I go on the wards. One or two staff have said it has made their day that someone has thanked them for what they do.
I also say good morning to nurses, patients, and visitors going down the corridors and sometimes I see a smile on their faces. I sometimes ask how are they if I feel there is a need.
I have been doing this for quite some time. I feel it makes the hospital a more friendly place and sometimes they want to talk, as a volunteer I can do that.
