2015-10-09_561802fc4fd9b_image.pngSomerset CCG has identified unmet need in AF patients and made significant investment in new anticoagulants to address this need.

 

In 2014/15 Somerset acute trusts had 78 fewer stroke admissions and this has continued into Q1 2015 with a year on year 25% reduction in stroke admissions.

While accepting the data is observational the CCG continues to promote implementation of NICE guidance as part of its stroke and medicines optimisation strategy
