The evolution of a social change movement – from ChangeDay to ChangeWeek

Thanks to a lot of hard work, enthusiasm and effort, last year your support made  FabChange-Day probably the most successful we’ve seen.

More pledges, more ideas and following the #Doathon-Day, more ideas into action, shared across the NHS.  You have told us you want to make it even better by turning it into a week of change, focussing on the real changes that are in place, building on the #Doathon outcomes that can be replicated across the NHS.

With your help, we want to act on your comments and suggestions to take FabChange Day to a new level.

Led by people at the frontline of care, change-agents, the Hubbies and Fab Ambassadors, at the end of May, we will be launching FabChangeWeek; 13-17th November 2017.

We have listened to what you have said so, in the run-up to FabChangeWeek, we will be launching the things you have asked for:

  • You wanted to have written pledges so we will be organising a competition to design a new, FabChangeWeek Pledge-Post-it note

  • A new photo-board for you to photograph your pledges and pin them to a board we can all see and share.

  • Starting in June we will be inviting everyone to start sharing their pledges, ideas and then their completed actions.

  • In October we will be looking at the top 100 FabChangeWeek shares on the fabwebsite, which we will celebrate with round-table discussions, so a Share-o-thon!

  • Also, we will be looking for comm’s teams to come up with a top-ten list of things to do to make a successful FabChangeWeek communications and social media strategy that we can all share and utilise.

You have told us you wanted more time to give everyone a chance to develop their thoughts and pledges and put them into action.  FabChangeWeek will enable you to do that - turning great ideas into outcomes for patients and staff to benefit from.

We’d love to hear your ideas so please contact us at [email protected]

After supporting Change Day from its inception, Helen Bevan’s Horizons teamwon't be playing such a prominent role in the organisation of FabChangeWeek this year because their work is focussing on a variety of other transformational change projects across the health and care system.   The Horizons team members will be involved and participating in FabChangeWeek   along with hundreds of other individuals and teams across health and social care.

Please put 13-17th November, in your diary, keep in-touch with developments at www.fabnhsstuff.net, the FabChangeWeek Facebook page will be coming soon and look out for more announcements in the weeks to come.
