Research shows that clinical staff typically spend around a third of their time working around broken processes. By addressing this, we could free up more time to improve patient experience and create more time to care for patients. As part of a wider piece of work looking to identify and resolve the issues that contribute to that “lost third”, the idea I put into action on change day was to be more visible to staff and ensure I go to the departments at least once a day to nip broken processes in the bud
