fabchangedapp-campaignsLet’s get the NHS talking again!

What is a Randomised Coffee Trial?

We just don’t talk to each other enough anymore.

A Randomised Coffee Trial (or RCT for short) are all about getting people talking to one another, making connections throughout the NHS – and beyond!

It’s ‘randomised’ because the idea is to connect people with a shared interest, or to put you in touch with someone in your organisation who you might not otherwise meet.

It’s part of Fab Change Day, and so it is all about action and change to make a difference to patients, as well as the staff who care for them.

There is so much good work going on out there, and innovative ideas just waiting to be shared. Let’s connect, get talking, discover, understand, and learn from each other!

RCTs is a simple but powerful idea.

Everyone is welcome to get involved, and we’d love you to take part.

How do I get involved?

There are three types of RCT. You can get involved in one of them, two….or all three!

  1. Set up your own RCT across your organisation
  2. Organise an RCT at a conference or meeting
  3. Take part in the countrywide RCTs for people with a shared passion or interest.  There are six to choose from, and you can join as many as you like!

how-to-set-up-a-randomised-coffee-trial-2-1024In the week beginning 17 October you will receive an email with the details of the person you have been paired up with. It’s up to you how you have your conversation – face-to-face, over the phone or using technology such as Skype or FaceTime. Just get talking!

The RCTs are run in partnership with Spark Collaboration.

If you’re signed up to one of our RCT communities, or are running your own RCT, why not tell other people about it, encourage them to get involved so they don’t miss out!

Are you on social media? Post a selfie with your favourite mug or cup to help spread the word, with the hashtag #FabRCT and tag us @FabChangeDay.

(Don’t like coffee? No problem! RCTs are completely inclusive. The conversation is the important thing!).
